ODOMETER not working HELP

hi,
need some help if possible.
I have a 1989 bmw e30 320i cab.
my odometer and trip meter doesn't work. everything else on the cluster works tho which i find strange …..


the car was sat for a while before i had it, not sure if that may have something to do with it.


ive read a lot about the gears, plugs, wires etc but was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem which could therefore save me some time!

Have you done a full search on here for possible solutions ? First thing I'd do as likely someone has previously posted about it.

Check fuses, if that fails remove cluster and check connections to speedo, replace and test
