Bit of a long shot but....
I’m looking for a set of mud flaps for my touring, facelift of course.
However there seems to be so many different types for pre-face lift, convertibles, facelift and skirt type with only very small differences between them.

Ive heard that some can be interchanged but is this true?

Also, does anyone know the part number for a facelift set?

Lots of questions but it seems to be a bit of a grey area!

(I know they are known for being rust traps- ill just have to make to to keep a close eye on it :o )

I had a set on my cab,I still have them, but a few of the brackets are broken or rusted and I only have approx 5 of the 8 clips that hold them to the bodywork,I can take some pics of them at the weekend.

I don't like them. They trap dirt and encourage rust.

They seem to be a bit of a marmite thing, personally I’m a bit of a sucker for them but I can see why people would prefer to stay clear

Got hold of some rear flaps in the end! Painted the BMW logo white for extra horsepower and also installed some SE skirts :)

I actually quite like mud flaps, look good and love the SE sideskirts too.

Just did a wheels off, palstic liners out clean on the 318 a couple weeks ago and there was so much muddy build up. Will look out for a set of mud flaps to lessen that hopefully.

I’ve heard you can get SE type mudflaps which enclose the side skirt moulding into a housing in the flap which sounds great for keeping mud and water out from getting in behind the skirts and sitting next to the sills.
I’ve also found that these style mud flaps are rarer than a Brexit deal soooooo :|

Sadly so… was washing it the other day and fully fisted my way through to the boot pockets. At least theres no pools of water in them anymore though!

Gosh. My condolences. I had the same issue (water in boot pocket) because of boot seals and I didn’t even notice for months! Changed them and now it’s nine dry.

Good shout! MOT tester did tell me it was quite rusty but all in the wrong areas to fail an mot… doubt it will pass after another year of abuse now though
