Hi,

Just wondered if anyone could help identify what model of E30 this prop shaft is from? It’s been sat in my mums garage for years and I can’t remember what I removed it from.

It has the following number on it 1101470.3 & 12064823

Cheers.

Measuring the overall length is probably the easiest way to identify it.

Appears to be a 325i one then, assuming you’re meant to measure right up to the end containing the bushing.

If it's 1489mm from flange face to flange face, and the sliding bit is where it was when it was on a car, then it's a M20B25 manual prop.

Flange face to flange face is 1460mm, no idea whether it’s moved on the splines at all but the collar nut is undone.

The only reason the collar nut would be loose on a prop. that's been removed from a car is to close it up on the splines to make it easier to remove.
If there's not a lot of spline showing, this is almost certainly s 325i manual prop.
