I've got a spare set of rear lenses that i want to experiment with smoking. Is it usual practice to leave the reversing lights clear? I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but i think they may look good on a malachite car.

i think the original ones are all smoked, but i have seen some home jobs with the reverse lights left white, looked quite nice. Best thing take a look at a couple of pics and decide. I will see if i can find any.

I think DIY smoked rears always end up looking wrong, DIY red is the way to go, or buy some proper smoked lights.

There's no way i'd spend 100 + quid on a set of smoked lenses. I've got a set of 10 quid lenses and a can of paint, no harm in seeing how it looks. If it does look shite there's no shortage of ebay victims...

you might be able to swap normal lights for smoked ones - diy smoked rears i have seen look bad
i think there's a girl (in the for sale section selling a a 320 touring) who's touring has smoked rear lights. she might be up for swapping them since she was thinking about putting normal rear lights in to help with the sale
