Hey I have some Euro smiley Headlights that I bought from eBay but they came without the correct plug or a wiring adapter. Could someone please point me in the right direction to get the correct plug? And also how to connect the park lights, on my original they are kinda on the same plug/wiring.

I have an April 1986 version PFL 325i

I realize I will have to solder this on but I'm not sure which plug I need to get. I see the ECS website sells the Depo brand light kit with the mini loom but the one I got didn't come with this :(

Plugs are available as separate components from BMW, but the cheapest way will be to but second hand loom bits from one of our long time trusted traders on here, tidying them up with new outer shells as needed. The wiring difference is that your old light use a common earth (brown wire) for the two lamps inside the unit with three pins, whereas the new need separate earths. Simply join an earth to the dip beam and to the parking light from one of the original earth wires.

If you look in the board index you will find a sub=heading for "Wanted - E30 Cars, Parts, and ICE" Put a post on there explaining that you want plugs for smiley headlights and those who have some available should reply to you.

If I remember correctly it's the same as a diff' plug, which will broaden your search.

FYI I couldn't be bothered trying to find the plugs so I just connected some simple spade terminals and wired it that way, drilled holes into the back of the plastic "plug holder" thing with some RTV on it to seal it.
Works great! 8)
