Good evening , I've established that I have two leaking fuel injectors, I've obtained a price for OEM from the dealer for a set of 6 at £800 which is over what I'd like to pay but they do need replacing , I've added a couple of links so I'm wondering are any of them suitable replacements ? The engine has a Piper fast road camshaft , 6 branch and mild road chip . along with a new FPR and fuel pump

Ultra sonic cleaning should save an otherwise faulty injector and stop leaks by removing deposits in the valve surfaces. Injectortune test the injector after cleaning and advise on flow rates and leakage if there is an un fixable item.
Here's a description I found of what happens to injectors:
Problems occur when the chemicals, lacquers and varnish in various fuels, contaminate the injector. This build up can occur when the engine is switched off. “Heat soak” from the hot engine bakes the tiny amount of fuel trapped within the inactive injector, Inside the body of the injector, contamination forms on the pintle valve, the pintle head and seat and also in the filter basket. Chemical contamination and dirt in the fuel system can cause a build up inside the fine screen of the filter basket, restricting the fuel flow rate.

Cheers Paul and thanks for posting , another gap in my knowledge filled .I had a before and after readout from Injectortune and there was a marked improvement in spray pattern etc . I have another spare set of injectors which I'm considering sending off which maybe the cheaper option . I picked up a spare set of injectors some time ago, which had been cleaned - and recently sent my originals in for a clean up too -
It's not a bad idea to run an injector cleaner through the fuel tank every once in a while - it dissolves any of that sticky brown
goop that you find in carbs and float chambers - definitely helps to keep the system clean.

I've been looking into various things regarding Injectors lately as I have a strong suspicion that mine have definitely seen better days.Came across some info on replacing M20 injectors with M50 injectors and actually getting better performance,and it seems pretty much like a straight swap:

The greatest improvement will come from 'new' (i.e. rebuilt injectors) whether they are M20 or M50 type,.
Note that with most UK spec. M20 engines there will be no mixture correction by the ECU. Mixture correction requires a feedback loop, fed by a lambda sensor, which is fairly rare on a M20 here.

I was curios because the M50's seem to be much cheaper than M20's from my short investigations into this. I have a '84 320i so I sure as hell ain't got no lambda sensor in that sucker!
