Hi
We are rebuilding a tech 2 and the propshaft universal joints are worn and need replacing - any ideas ? Would like to have the whole unit refurbished or would purchase a replacement if available ?

I did my M3 prop and got burnt by a company who told me they were able to do this. I messaged them and told them these are staked in UJs and sent them a link to a site showing all the details. They come back and said no problem. They did change the UJs, smothered the whole prop in thick black paint and handed it back.
They were also asked to change the little nose bushing and managed mangle the end of the prop in doing so and shoved a new bush it.
I took it to another company and asked them to look it and was told the company who did the original work and tried to stake the new joints in by hand by reusing the the old staking and probably covering it up by lots of black paint. They called it a lethal bodge which would have disintegrated under any load and one of the worst they'd ever seen.
A lot of these prop places won't have the correct machine for staking new joints in and some try what this place did and do it by hand .
The bodge company in question is http://www.autoprop-uk.co.uk/ who do dangerous work.
The company that repaired their mess was http://www.jwtransmissions.co.uk/

Thanks for the link - I've been looking everywhere for a company.
