Hi there guys,

I have a 90 316i and I want to convert the rear drum brakes to disks.

Had a search on the site but couldn't see much information on it. Basically i'm wondering how much needs to be swapped out to allow for the conversion? and secondly which parts are suited best? 320? 325?

any help appreciated
thanks

You need trailing arms complete with brakes, and matching handbrake cables. All E30 rear discs are the same, except for a small difference in the piston size of the calipers on tourings. The difference is minor, and will make little difference which you use, as long as it's a matching pair.

Awesome thanks dude, thats great to know, figured they were similar.

So to do the swap i'll need, trailing arms, rotor, calipers, disks, pads and matching handbrake cables.

Sweet niceone.

I did a bit of a write up of a rear beam swap, and went from drums to discs at the same time:

May be useful.
