Hello E30Zone Members! I have found this site quite helpful already! I purchased an ‘85 318i back in June 2018. It’s 90% perfect, a solid driver level toy that I can tinker on without worrying about hurting it’s value.
Things it needs:
~The light below the speedometer fixed.
~The odometer gears replaced.
~Passenger seat won’t recline or bend forward to allow passengers into back seat.
~Sloppy, sloppy shifter (sheet metal type) repaired.
Hints, tips and suggestions will be warmly received!
Thanks all! Sean

I do prefer the post facelift bumpers, but it came with the diving board bumpers in 1985. They’ll do for now.
My oldest son, also an E30 nut, gave me the custom plate for Fathers Day.
Overall, it’s a great little car that I can drive and fiddle with at my leisure. It reminds me very much of my 1973 2002 Roundie. The 2002 had an M10 also, but Webers on it instead of fuel injection and it weighed a lot less. It was great to toss around, but sadly it died of rust around 1986. I was just out of college with very little time or money to fix it.
TLDR: A like this little E30 a lot and am thrilled to have it!
