i had 17x7.5j et20 alpina reps bk171 if i remember correctly with 215 45 tyres just fitted not much clearance at all but no rubbing with -45mm springs the back i carn,t say as they were 7.5j also though there was more room in the back than front id say you will need to roll your archers in the rear

Do not put 17s on an E30. 16s are as big as you need. 17s ruin the ride. I know, I’ve tried it.

Why spend money on Mini wheels you don't know will fit, and will certainly look all wrong if they do? Wheels from that era look best, which ones are a matter of opinion but personally I think the best are the BBS standard type or Alpina style. If you have those, getting them refurbished will do wonders, or if you have the bottle-tops, get BBS wheels from a breaker.

agree with toplag 17" are to big though they felt alright on the motorway on the twisties there not good i,ve got 16" supperleggera,s on now and they feel great
properly the best mod i,ve done to the car bar the m52
acceleration braking and cornering noticeably improved over the other 16" oz alloys i had on previously as they weighed 6kg,s each more

Firstly they do not look like genuine BBS, they look awfully like the standard aftermarket style 5 replica.

People have fitted that type of wheel to an e30 but it will depend on the offset of those wheels and the tyre you are using. If they are an 8.5 wheel with a 205 tyre that is an awful stretch. O.K. if you like that look I guess but it is way past what is recommended. If you are fitting 7.5x17 front 8.5x17 rear everything has to be spot on, offsets, tyres, everything. I am sure those reps are made in a more e30-friendly size.

As said above there really is no real reason to run 17" wheels unless you need to get over brakes. Just giving yourself a headache

Think also about the future, few people keep a car forever and a time will come when you will be looking to sell your E30. What buyers look for is a well maintained original car that has not been molested, not one modified to individual taste which they are unlikely to share. Every move away from originality lowers the value of your car. Certainly it is your car and you can do what you want to it, but do be aware of what you are doing to its value.
