Hey guys,
It has been a busy couple of days, i was delayed with working on the car since one online store took 10 days to deliver a big box of parts, despite everything being in stock.
Was able to replace the throttle cable, all the bushings on the gas pedal assembly, adjust the throttle body and replace the passenger side fog light housing with a used one, since the original was broken.
I really wish i had more time, meaning i really wanted to send the struts, brake dust shields and little bits out to get sand/glass blasted, repainted and made to look like new. Sadly all the shops have weeks of turn around time and this is my current daily. Best i could do is basically degrease and clean as much as i could.
Replacing the throttle cable was easy, but those rubber bushings were a nightmare. However, it dramatically changed the engine response and now it just "goes".
Suspension took me a full day, since it was my first time tackling suspension components. I am familiar with cylinder heads, turbos and what not from my previous 86 944 Turbo. Everything went in just fine, new front bearings/hubs also installed.
Next week, rear wheel bearings, front tie rods, clutch, resealing the leaking transmission (and new mounts).
I booked 3 days at the DIY shop, if parts come in i will tackle engine mounts, and some cooling system, brake calipers (rebuilt ones going in) and maybe re-do the timing belt/pump since they were replaced in mid 2017 with only 3,000 kms on them and i wish to make the engine bullet proof for track days.
Sadly there is one engine oil leak, it appears to be leaking from the cylinder head gasket (near No.1 cylinder), but after researching it could be the valve cover gasket, rocker plugs or camshaft O-Rings. So i will tackle those first and keep my fingers crossed.
My apologies, not sure why the pictures are turned 90 degrees, i tried to fix them but no go.
Pics show the strut assembly in car, out of the car, new installed and cleaned and just bad hubs/bearings (as well as the box of parts).
