Eurocarparts seem to offer a discount most weekends, often 37%, an offer of 45% discount on batteries ended yesterday, sadly for you.

The 3 and 5 refer to the length of the warranty, in years. There are many enhancements that can be included in the building of a battery, but these come at a cost, or, depending on which way you look at it, there are many shortcuts which can be taken, to save expense.

It should last longer and/or tolerate abuse better.
I've always thought it a bit odd that Bosch offer S3, S4 and S5 batteries. A cheap S3 and a top quality S5 makes sense, but it seems odd to crowbar the S4 between them.
