AIRCON

Hello everyone,
I am writing here for the first time, i hope i do not do any mistake by opening a new topic.
My car is a non-aircon 318i. I would like to know exactly what the difference is between my heater matrix/core and one that is aircon capable. Do I need to find an aircon "capable" matrix/core or mine should do the job? (and of course i know thats not all i need for the system to work).

Factory fitted aircon uses a completely different heater box assembly from the non aircon type, so no chance of converting the original.
There was also a dealer fitted aircon option, identifiable by slatted air outlets in the vertical panel in front of the small storage area at the front of the centre console, which, AFAIK, doesn't affect the original heater.
I've no experience of the dealer fitted system, but it is reportedly considerably inferior to the factory system.

Thank you for the answer, I was expecting it to be like this. I was hoping that it would be the same one. I will kindly ask you guys to help me with some suggestions of where I can find one, maybe a site or any information, it would be of much help.
