I am in the process of swapping a s50b30 into my e30 convertible. I need to get a new diff as the one that is standard to the car will not work!

I have been offered a BMW Z3 Torsen LSD Ratio 3.15 and was wondering if it would work and if so would it bolt on. I have been told 3:15 or 3:25 is the way for me to go.

Any advice please?

Thanks in advance :)

All depends on gearbox. I'm guessing your using the ZF5 speed so that ratio of 3.25 will be good.

Thanks for the reply Gavin.

I am using the gearbox that came with the engine out of a e36 m3 3.0l.

Will it be a bolt on job? Again any advice much appreciated! Here is a link to the LSD on ebay

The one I fitted years ago just bolted straight up, as far as I remember. Prices seem to have gone up a bit! I paid less for mine than he wants for postage.

It should bolt up, depends what diff you have already, worst case I think you just swap the drive flanges, that is it AFAIK.

That's not the only thing that has gone up in price, just priced up a Z3M diff bush. That is way more than I paid for a whole LSD a while back too.

If you are going for a Torsen be sure it is what you want and you know it acts as an open diff in some situations
