Hello all,

I have a 1985 coupe with a getrag 240 which I assume will have the early sheet metal shifter without the ears for the “bitch clip” (Will check this when I get chance).

Been researching how to convert this to the new aluminium style because all the good bushing kits are for that style.

Came across this bracket (25112225369)

which adds the ears to the wider bolt holes but it’s for an M3 getrag 265 gearbox and apparently the holes don’t quite match up.

Any reason why I can’t just redrill/widen the bracket holes to line up? Has anyone tried using this on a getrag 240?

The 240 already has this provision on it.
