i finally got the m42 on the rolling road so it could be mapped after being in the car for 3 years and it made 257 BHP and 193 ft/lb torque. this is it on the rolling road getting the throttle enrichment set up with a power run

i know just where to put the engine now

Epic. Always been attracted to the idea of a NA high output M42. Keeps the weight down up front.

Would love to hear the story of how you went about building the engine!

me to would have gone m42 instead of m52 if id known you could get that sort of power or even close would be fine

I could really do with that sort of power in my car. Thankfully the regs don't allow engine modifications such as this.

the engine is now in the e30 but i did not have time to fit the exhaust as it is going to be a lot of work to get the manifold to miss the steering column. Down on power from where it was but still flying

what sort of cam duration and lift does this have?
E30 325is with M20B31

Good to see the engine put to use. Must be one nimble race car with that light weight nose.
