Hello guys, my mates got a h reg 316i, he said that after parking his car up and returning to it, it wouldnt start.... ive just been down there and checked that he's got a spark but theres no fuel coming from his pipe... there is also no buzzing from the pump under rear seat..am i right in thinking that either his pump is knackered or his fuel pump relay?.. can any one tell me where the fuel pump relay is on these models as mine is a 325i and is located just opposite the power steering reservoir... his car aint got one... any suggestions pls!!

think there by the firewall, under the flap.

Check the fuse as well.

If this doesn't work might be the pump it self, check connections, and give it a bit of a wack like...

yeah, its on the bulk head under the black flap. it'll have two relays, one for the DME and one for the fuel pump.

if i remember rightly, the fuel pump relay is the one nearest the brake servo (left side of the car)

touch the relay and get your friend to turn the ignition on. the relay should click at terminal 15 (first stage) i think. if not it should definately click on terminal 30 (2nd stage)
