Car not starting issue

Is it at all possible that a fuse that kept blowing (10) which was due to a wire shorting out caused a battery drain? as I have fixed the fuse 10 issue and the battery seems to be holding a lot better? or am I getting excited that I may have killed 2 birds with one stone?

Its unlikely as the fuse was blown and the circuit off as a result. You could do a parasitic draw test to check it out. Lots of examples on YouTube.

What is the issue?

If it was the battery too flat to start the car, then possibly the short was causing the problem by flattening the battery.

If it was that the key didn't fit in the ignition then probably not caused by the short.

There are many reasons for a car not to start.

Fuse 10 blowing (on a car with a manual gearbox) is almost always caused by damaged wiring to the reverse light switch underneath the car, where it runs from the gear lever grommet forwards to the switch on the side of the gearbox.

Yes Brian it was exactly that, the inner wire was slightly exposed and was touching and occasionally and randomly causing fuse 10 to blow, i covered in leccy tape and it hasnt blown and the voltage seems to be holding on the battery, could I have fixed 2 issues in 1?

There's only power on the reverse light wiring when the ignition is on, so it can't be responsible for a drain when the car is parked up. Unfortunately, I think you still have a problem to solve.
