i used to live in one like that about 15yr's ago, the one i was in the side extended out to form the extra bedroom,
it was really comfy & the heating was fantastic in the winter
as for jesus (rog) he's be "on tour" in that
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Am I so predictable??
If I had the cash to restore it, I would certainly roll in that beast
Think I will have to skip this one and get on with building my '32 Shepard Hut, oh and put my RR back together ready for winter
Wish I could find a picture of a caravan I used to own, Steve, you would appreciate it as like me have done your stints living the pikey life, it was a tourer, 33ft Star European Super Star, absolute monster of a caravan and never seen one as big, or the same since.

Ha Ha me too, just not the tarmacking or block paving variety
Back in the day, not sure the rule now, but every 2 months or something you had to move a minimum of 6 foot to be exempt from paying c/tax

i remember that rule, go out to work only to come back later & find it on another pitch, didn't mind the pitch under the big oak tree in summer

My 'vans were never on pitches, fields & farms
Circus eh? That's a cool heritage to have, they may have approved of my Shepard's Hut build on a '32 lorry chassis. Never been to the circus myself, though I love the Carters set up, they have some stunning Trucks and Showmans wagons

that side of the family went over in the great exodus of the late 1800's. barnums circus was only small till the baileys joined him, they had been a large circus family for generations before then.Jesus325iTouring wrote:My 'vans were never on pitches, fields & farms![]()

always meant to go over to see that side of the family & i will one day, as far as i know the side that stayed here were bargee's (riverboat/canal workers).
loads of history to my family, would take forever & a day to go through it all, dads family (kirk) were mentioned in the doomsday book & also a founding family of nottingham as the area known as dunkirk was named after them (dun meaning hill & kirk meaning church or chapel).
