Suspension options. What’s opinion like on standard/non-oem replacement shocks and springs?
Also, while it’s happening, which bushes would make sense to replace?
Looking for recommendations and UK vendor links if possible.

Replace the front wishbones as they are cheap enough, I think my son went for standard height springs I think Bilsteins as the car was sitting low and in London it makes it hard to drive. They take a while to settle though.
B3 I believe,

I went with B4 Shocks/HR Sport Springs and bigger spring pads. Worked out great and copes well with the bumpy roads around me.
I too though am interested in what bushings are worth replacing.
Particularly with Polyurethane and what brand, as a few of my bushes have started to squeak since replacing shocks and dampers.
In general OE rubber is the go to as mentioned in the wiki. A few of the known better alternatives are:
- Meyele HD Top Mounts - for front struts
- Meyele HD/E46 Cabby Mounts - rear struts
- Z3 Rear - Rear Diff Bush
- (E30 M3 Offset Front Control Arm Bush)
- Mondeo Front Drop Links
Is it just trailing arms that PU is good for on a road car? I know it helps keep the alignment in check. If so which brand?

I went for OE shocks and springs a while back and OE rear subframe bushes this year. They made a big difference. Standard ride height, wheels and tyres are best for my fillings because the RAF have been using the roads around here for bombing practice!
