Hi guys

I’m having trouble with the 15amp fuse in socket location 28 in the fuse box.
The fuse blows and as soon as I go to replace it it blows straight away again .

Any ideas ?

Have you been fettling with the electrics?

Disconnect the cigarette lighter from the circuit as if something metallic falls in to it, it will cause a short circuit then try again.

As Brian Moore always says, a blowing fuse is not a problem, it is a symptom of a problem. You need to check the devices that are fused through there, and the wiring to them. The cigarette lighter sounds quite likely.

Lighter elements often fuse together causing a short or a shorted section making the current draw higher than the fuse can handle - also the the sockets tabs can get bent and short - quick test - remove the ash tray and pull the red/yellow cable spade off the lighter unit - problem gone?

Also, fuse 28 feeds the accessory connector - so pull out the red cable from position 2 on the accessory connector which feeds the aerial - if the problem goes away then the short is in the aerial lead to the boot or the aerial itself -
