Hello,
My 1990 320 saloon has no power to the back windows. They won't open/close and the rear doors themselves have to be locked manually. Front windows and locks work perfectly. Has been this way since owned.
I tested all 4 front switches (around shifter) with a voltmeter, all switches are receiving power. However, the switches on the back doors are not. Swapping around the switches did nothing.
Fuse 28 and 17 were my first check - they are fine.
I've tried testing the K5 relay with a wire - no luck.
Finally the green/black wire on the starter motor was checked, it was not loose and was removed and tightened up just in case, still the problem persists.
I cant hear any form of relay tick or motor sounds when pressing the rear window buttons.
Any ideas?
No power to rear windows

Does the car have a "kiddie" switch fitted to it that kills the power to the rear window switches?

There should be a safety switch - it must be on or faulty "always on"

Yeah I tried the kid switch, didn’t work. I don’t think the switch is faulty because when I connected it to the circuit breaker switch terminals it worked as that switch, cutting power to the front windows. I’ll check the voltage on the kid switch terminals, maybe the lines died

Right so I tested the wires that run to the ”˜kiddie switch’, no voltage. That must be the problem. I am unsure what would stop this wire getting power. It’s green/blue and there is also a green/blue wire that runs to the circuit breaker switch - that is receiving power. If anyone knows where this wire goes or anywhere along the line that is prone to break let me know.

what's your exact car model year etc - to check the wiring.
The power should come from the circuit breaker then to the safety switch, then to the rear window switches.
Couldn't find a diagram with green blue cables marked.

Check the continuity of the cables from the kiddie switch to the rear door switches.
Check out diagram 5133-0
