Very rare I bother, find one make static shows pretty boring nowadays. Enjoyed MG Live more than I've ever enjoyed Gaydon, and I don't even like MGs (free tickets probably helped)

The weather was a bit off-putting for sure (hence museum venue being a great choice) but even with a weaker turn-out there was still a BMW for everyone...kieran325 wrote:Just got back after a 260 mile round trip.
I found the Jaguar bit more interesting to be honest.
Best to leave it a few years before I make a return.
V10 E30 M3 was the star, V8 E30 Touring too. Dozens of 02s, a good selection of E9 CSLs, some well-presented cars in the concours and a bunch of new cars being revved-up for no good reason.
The announcer for the day did a pretty good job too.
Would have been good to see more support from traders and specialists - and I did feel a bit sorry for the Custom Cars owners who were parked up with a whole load of skips and containers.
Just my 2p..

I think as people get older and settle down they have less time to go to these shows, last time I went Marcel was there and won a competition, met Pukar and there where a load of Z1's on display.
I haven't even bothered to get mine out of the garage in the last couple of months.........

I'm always on bmw forums and bmw social media pages/groups and I didn't see anything about the show until the day before where people posted about prepping their car for the next day. Unfortunately, I already had plans for the sunday but the show was only an hour away so I was pretty disappointed.
I'd of thought with it being 100 years of BMW that there would've been better advertisement or even just communication through these forums and groups.

It’s run by BMW car club. If you are on their mailing list or a member you will get informed several months before the event. And as for the 100 years of BMW they did have events for these.lellis wrote:I'm always on bmw forums and bmw social media pages/groups and I didn't see anything about the show until the day before where people posted about prepping their car for the next day. Quite. Great sleeper. Until you caught the sound of it!tcos wrote:Re. that V8 Touring it was a "super charged" V8!!!!!!! People were walking straight past it nothing what so ever gave away what a monster it was.
True that people walked by not knowing but a nice crowd gathered round it once it had been up on the stand and all was explained.
The German chap that hit 230mph on the way over to the show with his baby in the back needs a bit of a talking to though (if it's true...)
Next up is Dunsfold Wings and Wheels - any E30 Zoners heading that way (Aug 26th)??
