Evening
is there a way of testing an AFM , I've recently purchased a new one from the USA it has the correct part numbers and marked made by Bosch. The car doesn't seem to have the same oomph as it had with the old one .

personally . i would check all other avenues first. plugs, dizzy cap/rotor arm, air fiter , fuel filter, fuel pressure ,plug leads , wiring under the inlet to injectors can corrode at connector . Vacuum leaks are common .
the a.f.m are very reliable and made for a specific model ie 1.6 i without a cat. or 1.8 with a cat ie.
however when doing the 9v battery test , your looking fora smooth voltage increase, so a needle type multi meter (old school ) is better to see a nice smooth curve with no erratic jumps which means the track is knackered. then you got 2 choices move the wiper arm to contact the track on a different point or move the board by elongating the screw holes.

I've fitted a new fuel pump , pressure regulator , plugs dizzy cap and rotor arm , air and fuel filter, blue temp sensor next will be the injectors cleaned and hopefully all the rubber hoses and I know the old AFM has been mucked about with hence me buying a new one but whether this will solve or improve the driveability of the car remains to be seen
