Got to got to work in Turin next week, and, as I just got back from a stint in London with the Polo which is distinctly pedestrian, I thought I'd take the vert for a jolly across Germany, Switzerland and into Piedmont.

Cars had most things sorted including fresh oil and filter, and yesterday, Madame, daughter and dog did a run to the Dutch coast for a bit of sea, sun and coffee shop supplies, came back all looking good.

So anything I should take apart from a loan for the fuel?

ADAC-yes, Fuel can - yes, always have a CPS, fuel relay and DME relay in the back somewhere - Looks like I'm good to go, oh yeah, I have a little compressor tucked away too with the DVM.

ha ha ha! keep them coming - I thought I'd pack a picnic hamper with fine white wine and a cooler, as well as some excellent brötchen mit wurst - ya know, butties, to bribe the mechanics with, and of course, my ski's to use on the way through Switzerland after the car does an "Italian Job" exit.

I like the hint of orange - but prefer full orange lens' on black or dark colored cars, I think the clear lens' suit the 244 Sterlingsilber chromie.

note that both Paul and Satan have color coded wing mirrors- were these an option or did you have them painted?

Mine are the standard black ones.

mine has the heated mirror and door lock option - but don't see a color code option for the mirrors - car came to me with them, and I bought a spare pair about 5 years ago also paint code 244, as you never know when that transit van'll side swipe the mirrors out of existence.

I bought it like that, I have the heated locks and washer jets option as well.

Need to dig the wind stopper out of the garage this weekend as a trip to the New Forest beckons.

It does make a lot of difference as then you don't have two people sat in the back moaning......... ;o)))))

Windstopper fitted windows up cruising along it does stop the air circulating in to the car, a worthwhile addition luckily I got mine when they where still at a reasonable price.

Plays havoc with the dog in the back though!!

Might try a couple of those Philips silver vision lamps - then there's the side repeaters....

I looked at the Philips lamps, they don't fit correctly as the two spigots are not 180 degrees opposite, must be a more modern "improvement".

Also despite the silvering, you can still see some orange because the lamps lay sideways and not perpendicular into the body.

It's a fancy load of old crap - I prefer my "fried egg" styleee.
