So I replaced my selector shaft seal - Getrag 260, because there was a small oil loss going on - after replacing it I still have the same issue - so I guess the shaft is shafted.

Anyone any idea how hard it is to change once the box is out?

any suggestions welcomed

never taken a box to bits - never had the balls to be honest.

May be cheaper to replace it with a good used one- i hear the 240 box is a good swap.

no, me neither, but I'm up for trying !! The car has to come off the road for a while - I have a noisy release bearing, so new clutch, and a front end suspension rebuild - just the time to do this, but I'm not sure there's much data about doing this sort of thing as it's mostly tackled by "pro's"
