evening folks, thought i'd post this here as there a bit more traffic. (hope the team don't mind.

right, looking for advise & opinions on reinforcement of the e30 rear end.

basically i'm looking at getting this trailing arm reinforcement kit \/\/\/\/\/\/\/

https://srs-concept.com/product/e30-tra ... tions=1764

whats folks thoughts on it?

already reinforced the from end (subframe, engine mounts & arb mounts all done, fixed strut brace).

no moving towards the rear of the car, already got the rear suspension tops done (weld on plates & strut brace) & the rear arb mounts on the trailing arms done.

thing is the above kit looks (to me anyway) to be good value,
has anyone used it & have experience of it?

the car will be used for a few track days but also a lot of roads use so i want to make it as stiff/strong as possible with out going over the top (roll cage),

also, does anyone know where i can get the plates that sit between the inner wings & the front turrets? normally found on a cabby i think.

so, whats folks thoughts?/opinions &/or advise??
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Cheers mart,

Just looking into stiffening the chassis & trying to eliminate the flex it has.

glad the "team" don't mind :D

the point i'll be hoping it makes is a stiffer chassis, which (if i'm correct) while make for a slightly sharper handling car which quicker turn in, couple this with the work i've done on the suspension & the upcoming e46 purple tag steering rack.

thing is i'm trying to get a stiffer chassis as the car will see a few track days a year.

If your going rallying I could understand it, but for road car its a waste of time IMO

I have been meaning to set a gopro up underneath my track car to see any movement of the rear arms under hard cornering on track as it happens

i forgot to mention that if i do decide to go for this kit/down this route it wont go straight on the car,

i've got a spare m3 rear beam & 325i trailing arms in the shed, i would be building it on that to see how it all looked & then take it from there,

as i said the front end (subframe) is already done & on the car & the rear already has the "strengthening" plates in the rear top mounts.

as for rallying, spoke to my (ex)father in law who rallies a road legal mk1 golf (different to an e30 i know) & he's done similar to that car & he sadi ti can & does make a difference to the handling & he's far from gentle on his cars.

like i said at the start just looking for opinions.
