Looks like the green light has been given and the ULEZ will be extended and will be between the North and South Circ, that will kill a lot of business at the ACE and will make owning a classic under 40 years old in the area not worth the hassle, Khan is a tool.

I live about 5 mins from the ace cafe literally outside the zone. I enter it multiple times a week so I think I'm probably going to have to sell my e30 :-( I might go for something older that will turn 40 a few years after this comes in, I'm really not happy that there isn't even a residents discount...

I think London will be a trial and if we roll over and take it then they will implement the ULEZ in other cities around the UK.

I'm sure other cities will do it too. Its an easy money maker. I'm not against doing something to improve air quality as it is bad, but I think this is a bit too harsh, especially for those living within the zone, I also don't see why it needs to operate 24 hours

Eventually, say in 15 years, you would think almost everyone driving within the zones will use a car exempt from the fee. Surely it will reach a point where it costs far l more to run than it brings in?

I live in the congestion charging zone and checked the Ulez this morning. It states, there will be a holiday period until 2021 for residents. I will have likely moved by that point anyway, London is becoming an absolute sewer.

You'd be stuck in too much traffic to justify taking the car anyway! I'll wave at the nice white Alpina as I whiz by on my bike. ;)

I'm not against it though - walking through the city High Street/Headington Road is horrid with all the bus fumes, and it's not worth driving in already.

I just drive around Richmond Park for my fix  but after 2021 it will either be in an old Merc or a 2002.

Not sure as I haven't looked in to it.

Am tempted to move as I have seen this,

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for ... 39290.html

also I like the Rimac E30 EV, he owns the company that built the EV that Hammond trashed a while back.

Mate Rimac the Croatian Elon Musk, if you can build a car with 0-60 in 1.8secs and 250 mph @ 1900 HP

I know, really need a double garage and a workshop but when you can buy something at half the price and twice the size it makes it tempting to move and to start uni some sort of business (not scrapping E30's)

have any of the ULEZ tree huggers calculated the amount of additional emissions generated by the endless chatter of these ludicrous proposals.

Exactly, and I know, looking back at some past protests (for example 2010 student fees) it does not look that protest can help, but I still think that people should have their opinion not just listened but actually put in consideration. Also, I do agree that the air pollution has to be tackled but ULEZ seems like just new way of letting rich people get around London faster than the rest :). I guess even zoners might have different opinions on this (I mean, you do understand that you will be charged to drive your lovely e30 in or around most of British cities soon?). Anyway here is a link for a petition https://www.change.org/p/sadiq-khan-sto ... -in-london

Leeds is on the agender where I used to work and they are fighting for £10 a day.
That would have cost me £200 a month just to go to work (after tax !! )
The local taxis have said they will not go into the city.

funny thing (or not really) about everyone who's saying "I live in a country side and never go to that sh1t h0le (london) and I don't care", that when ULEZ will come to their place they will be left on their own, cause nobody in cities will care then about what is happening outside.

Trouble is there are a lot of "associated" costs that will filter through and affect everybody eventually, anyways those that live in the countryside pay a sh1te more in council tax then Londoners do.
