Is there a simple replacement pump for this style in-tank pump ?
The factory part as a plastic mount, so not easily replaced.

Not sure what you mean by plastic mount, but you can just buy the pump itself and fit it to your existing cradle. Far cheaper than buying the whole lot.
I'm still not sure what you mean by a plastic bracket. All pumps I've seen are like this;

Just remove the pump from the frame and refit with a new one. Depending on the type of pump you might need to change the plug, or run a longer piece of hose between the pump and cradle.
Last time I bought a Bosch pump this is what I got;

That's a different style pump and chassis, the wiring plug on top is also different . Click the link in my original post to the ECS site and you can see the difference. I guess it might be easier to rewire, but kinda bugs me to convert it.

I wonder if the link you pasted is for an E30 with a separate external pump?

Real OEM lists that part number as a 'pre-supply pump'.
The three pumps I've had to change (mainly 4 cylinder post-facelift E30s) are as per the ones in Kedge's post above, aka with the pump motor included. This is listed as part number 16141184022.
Not sure if that helps at all?
