Hey i was in WHSmiths flicking through Aprils edition of Max Power Magazine when i saw a clone of my car on page 158. Even more strange, the black dude driving it looks like my twin. I'm gutted cause that feature is much better than my feature in PBMW. The pictures are fat and the whole feature is very, very well done. Have a flick through next time your in a news agents

I'll see if I can find a copy which has had the plastic wrapping ripped off by some previous Chav and have a little look.

Oh the good old days of Max Power, I had my old baby in there a couple of times, then I finished the exterior work, sold it and now the new owner has it booked in for a front page feature all on the back of the work I put into it.
But E30's are now my life so as Lauren Hill once said "No more Tears"

I agree with you all. The amount of times i've been sitting on the train reading a feature in Max P, turned the next page and you've got some bird with her chuff hanging everywhere and it looks like i'm reading a top shelve mag. I then get the dirty looks from the people sitting around me
You guy's dont have tyo buy a cop though. Just open one and have a look at page 158. Jimbob i know it's still Feb, but the mags always come out a month in advance, so my car was in the March isssue of PBMW even though it was this month. I went to Max P cause say what you want, but they sell the most amount of copies out of all the modded car mags. I'm just happy tp get 2 features in 2 top mags 2 months in a row. Like i said. The quality of the Max P feature and the pictures are much better than the PBMW one, wich i'm quiet suprised at

I wasnt very impressed by the PBMW shoot, for yours or Dips car, I thought that Total BMW photographers are much better... was well impressed by the photos they done when Dips car was mine.

The guy that done my shoot for PBMW was meant to be the best in the business, especially at capturing the colour of a car, but i think the Max P boys captured the colour much better and the whole feature was much better written as well. Still like i said, at least i got the car into the top 2 modded car mags in the world 2 months in a row, so i'm happy for now.

boots, i saw the "angry man" shoot in pbmw, its the issue with dips white m3 aswell isnt it?
it was so funny, i was walking around the newsagents in a busy shoppin center, callin aftre my missus goin "see him, heԚ´s from the zone, heԚ´s from the zone!!"
looked like a right cnut, standin there for 10 mins with a cheesy on my mug, eyeballin this mag, and then DIDNԚ´T even buy it!
it looked good, but i was expecting something that i could really get into. I mean, your sig-pic looks better than some of their shots

I know what you mean johnono. I was really excited about the whole thing too cause they paid for an airfield for for the day. I also had to wait for the phtographer to come back from New Zeeland i think, then it came out and i was so dissapointed with the whole thing. Like you said, the picture in my sig looks better. I wouldnt advise you to buy Max P if you have a strict Missus or children, but at least have a look at a copy on page 158 and you'll see that they are a lot better with the feature and the pictures.

took my shoes off mate. Besides, it was all part of the fun mate. When i did my PBMW one, the photographer just took my car keys, drove the car onto the runway and snapped away for 3 to 4 hours. I stood there like a tit and frooze my nuts off. The Max Power one was a lot more involved. They were interested in both the car and myself so i didb't really mind doing a couple of silly pics for them. They also had a table booked to take me to dinner, but my engine started to everheat due to trapped air when i had my hoses changed to the braided ones, so we had to cancell the dinner and the trip to the pub after.

Its a mugs game mate. You spend Ԛ£thousands on your car and you dont get anything back whilst they make a fortune. Think about it mate. Max P sells over 500k copies a month. At Ԛ£4 each, that gives them about Ԛ£2million pounds, add that to the adverts and i'd say easily Ԛ£3million a month, but you dont get a pennu for getting your car featured. The models get their cut and all the other little muppets. Without your car, they wouldn't have a mag to sell, and that makes you the most important person in the chain, yet you are the only one who makes nothing in the chain. I thhough about setting up some sort of Agencey, where i'd buy the rights to all the nice cars, then force the mags to pay say Ԛ£5k for a fron cover car, and say Ԛ£3k for a normal feature, but i had to shelve that idea cause for it to work, you'd have to get the ownerws of the cars on your side. Unfortunatly, for everyone that say's yes to you, there will be 100 that are happy just for the glory of having their car featured in the mag, so the mag will just go to them. Shame that, cause that was going to be my rags to riches story.

WTF was he doing here?
I know he wasn't doing Glenn's Supra powered E30 (300kw @ treads), I hope like hell he wasn't doing the Lexus V8 powered E36...
But if it was one of the modded E46 M3's, top work!

Apparently being as good as he is, he gets to fly the World shooting loads of different things. I dont think you can blame the photographer anyway. He shot about 4 hours of film. At the end of the day though, which of those pictures end up in the mag is purely down to the feature writer/editor of the mag

Sorry cuk
I'm careful where i read that mag as it has more semi-naked ladies in it than cars. The shameful thing is that PBMW is slowly starting to creep that way now. You look at the back pages now and there are adverts for 0800 sites. I wonder where it's all going to end. Ho did you like my chav picture standing on my seats

Same here mate. Cause i get the train into and from London, i use to get all the modded car mags, but like you i've stopped now cause it's a complet waste of money. Most of the car's in there, i can drive past my local Mc D's on a Friday night and see. As for the punarny, if i wanted a top shelve mag, then i'd buy one. It's not even like it's classy, then you wouldnt mind so much, but it's so trashy i have to sneak into the news agaents like someone from the dirty mac brigade just to get a copy
Still, they sell over half a million copies every month so we must be in the minority

Hmm. All that money and you dont even get a penny for having your car featured. Without the cars, there wont be a magazine. Someone ought to remind these people. Still, as long as there are folks who are just happy to see their motor in a mag, they can all get away with it. Shame cause i could have do with a couuple of Ԛ£grand right now

It actually cost me about Ԛ£300 for the PBMW shoot cause i had to take the day off work, which i dont get paid for as i'm a contractor. Add that to a tank of petrol and breakfast and lunch and that's about Ԛ£300. They should have at least covered my expensis. Ho well. Someone is exploiting the market and making a mint out of it.

He must be an exception to the rule then. I know that every now and then if they really, really want a car, then they will pay the owner to get the exclusive on it. Take that chrome M3 from the States for example (KNOW THE ONE I MEAN?) He had a shoot all lined up with PBMW, then Max P rang him up. He told them he already had a shoot lined up with PBMW and Max P offered him Ԛ£4k i think. He then fcuked off PBMW nad went to Max P where he got front cover a couple of months ago.
