Virtually the same as the one I was involved in. Only that had blown out the exhaust side, confusing the owner into thinking it was the manifold gasket. It had also blown a clear path between the bores.
Is this getting both sides done or a "Jesus Value" repair?

Not yet Mart, been too busy, juggling my boy to Dr's and hospital, my work, wife work and school runs etc to squeeze a day in on it.
Won't be too long though, need to get it sorted ASAP, that said, both our CRV's have MOT end of month and our eldests Alfa. Busy Busy!

Ha Ha Jesus Value, but in all seriousness Trev, whilst I have most of the bay in bits, the most sensible thing to do is, well, just the one sideB7 wrote:

Oh yes, family first as always, in short his appendix burst and he spent ten days in hospital, 5 in intensive care in Bath before being transfered to Bristol Childrens Hospital for about 5 more days. Had to have full open surgery to sort out the mess inside him, seeing him wired up with 3 drips, nose tube, catheter, cavity drain and various other wires and machines is not something I (or my wife) wish to see again any time soon. Nor him of course, he's only 10 but in fairness to him he was incredibly brave through it all. He now has about a further 3 weeks recovery left before going back to school.

Thanks mate, I am at work at the minute, luckily, there is a vacant flat upstairs, so he is upstairs playing on his x box laying on the sofa while I am downstairs decorating a reception/waiting room.

One step closer, was my birthday last week and my fine wife bought me a top end gasket set and new head & inlet bolts... woo hoo!

Time to get on with rebuild, poor old beast is collecting dust in my workshop. As long as its back on the road before winter when all the local tracks have turned to slop I'll be happy. Been to hot & dusty of late for off road shennanigans, and with non functioning blend motors I have no aircon.

Well I got the set, and today, cleared some more space in my workshop, I have just taken over another business at quite short notice and had to pile everything in. Now have a free table and space in front of the RR again to work.

There was a V-registered P38 4.6 floating about on the farm where I work for several months, which initially looked quite tidy but I spotted it this weekend looking pretty forlorn (almost abandoned, in fact), parked up along a track with the bonnet half-open, and the offside front wheelarch liner removed and placed in the interior, along with a set of coil springs.
I'm guessing something has gone wrong with its air suspension or summat...

My air works just fine, well I say fine, it sinks on its backside when left a week but works fine in use, well I say fine, occasionally it will shut down and tell me there is a EAS fault, this requires turning the car off, unplugging the EAS relay under the passenger seat, plugging back in and re starting the car
