I'm going to have my insurance renewal coming up soon, with which I've got an agreed valuation listed. However, with the escalating prices of E30's I suspect I'm now undervaluing.
Who out there would you recommend for getting a valuation done?

Alot of people ask me how much is it insured for with it being a classic so this could very well be of interest for a lot of us on here.

Yea, I’ve found the BMWCC page referring to valuations, £50 for a none member, £25 for a member (membership fee is £45).
Would be great to hear if anyone has experience of these, particularly with a modified car.

How did you come to your valuation Mick?
My concern is market value versus replacement value. Dread to think how much it would cost to build another E30 to the spec of mine nowadays.

I just kinda guessed at mine based on a rough ballpark on what I spent to build mine (plus a little bit extra for headroom), and sent them a couple of crappy phone photos (the center caps hadn't even been refitted after the MOT/winter storage wheel swap), and they accepted it straight off the bat (and it's in writing, which arrived today). It's not a mad valuation, but it's at the top end of the market, so I thought they might question it a bit.
That was with A-Plan.

Do you think it`s worth asking my insurers if I can go to an agreed value ?
At the end of the day , to replace it would cost a shed more than I paid for it.
Mart.
I said I would not go down this road............but that was then, hey!!!

Certainly no harm, especially with the huge range prices asked in the second hand market. I'd feel a bit wary at market value, as trying to persuade them where it sat in the market would be a challenge...

I have agreed value on mine, also if it gets "written" off then I am allowed to keep the scrap.martauto wrote:Do you think it`s worth asking my insurers if I can go to an agreed value ?

Hi All, I asked for an opinion on mine here on the zone last year I got very sensible responses and decided on an average insurance value of £15k however my insurance company knocked it back. I wasn’t sure what I could do so just accepted their value

I just had my Sport and M3 valued by the BMWCC and I believe Danthe has also recently,Kedge wrote:Yea, I’ve found the BMWCC page referring to valuations, £50 for a none member, £25 for a member (membership fee is £45).

I told them what I though it was worth, sent them pics, filled out a form, sent them copies of some of the paper work for the cars and they agreed both prices. One of the cars (my sport) is well known to them so that helped.
