Behind dash vin plate

Hi do I have to remove the hole dash ie remove it from the car to check this vin plate or can I check it any by moving the dash a bit? And where about is it? Thanks for the help.

Vin plate behind the dash ?, never heard of that before.

Unless there's something under the dash iv never seen before, the vin number is located on the scuttle panel in front of the windscreen. Just lift bonnet and peel back the weather seal and you will see it

May be a chassis number ? Have check the one below the windscreen which is stamped on and one on a plate at the front be herd there is another one behind dash ? Thanks

Check page 21 , this details the position of the Vin plate in addition to the one stamped near the scuttle panel

May be getting confused with later BMW models, but I think some of the later E30s have a VIN sticker on the engine ECU, which is "behind the dash".
