Has anyone done this and if so was it re-welded and bonded or was there another method available to say just bond the tray in place chemically with a glue or strong adhesive?

There are strong adhesives available today that weren't available to BMW at the time your E30 was made, so I don't see why not.

I've been through this very good wiki but it stops short of a refit plan.

For good reason as it's a reverse procedure.

I was just wondering if anyone had done some kind of adhesive bond refit rather than bond and weld.

Brian that's what I was thinking surely there is an argument for even only half the welds and some serious bonding adhesive.

Any way it would just be handy if anyone has done the refit so I can get a little insight.
