I have also been at the Porsche museum in Stuttgart, and I can say with confidence that it doesn’t.bab-91 wrote:Puts Mercedes and Porsche (Shiteeee) to shame.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I lived 20 minutes from the Porsche museum. Visited it once, which was enough, it had some cool displays but I'm glad I didn't fly in from the UK to see it. I think I would have been disappointed.

Fair point but I was comparing BMW Welt to the Porsche Museum, not the BMW museum to the Porsche one.bab-91 wrote:Topblag wrote:I have also been at the Porsche museum in Stuttgart, and I can say with confidence that it doesn’t.bab-91 wrote:Puts Mercedes and Porsche (Shiteeee) to shame.

BMW welt is free to enter and has a display of new BMW M cars and Rollers, has a shop, cafe and there’s driving sims and stuff like that. Across the footbridge is the BMW Museum, which has every car you'd want to see, including concept cars and mint examples of every E30 and beyond. There was an old Rolls Royce section also, which I enjoyed. There’s also factory tours, which I didn’t do, I went to the Olympic stadium instead. I had no interest in watching 320d's on a production line.martauto wrote:Please explain??Topblag wrote:It’s cool. Great day out for a petrolhead.
Mart.
Porsche museum is better in my opinion, as previous, as I love the old Porsche race cars, specifically the Moby Dick. It’s in Stuttgart though

Ok checking in from Munich,I've done BMW welt yesterday,it was good but i wouldn't wright home about it,1st floor was closed to the public as the big wigs have some sort of do going on,sat in the soulless new cars BMW are producing these days, all very functional and built beautifully but as I said no soul, all built by robots, literally.Today to contradict myself I did the plant tour,in my option it was €9 very well spent,I truly enjoyed it.Theres meant to be x thousand people working there,I saw about a dozen, there is Of course robots, but still well worth a visit.walking round I couldn't help thinking what it was when proper BMWs were rolling of the production line, one of the things that I noticed from start to finish was how quiet the hole place was,and I mean quiet ! Tomorrow I'm of to the museum where the real business starts,o and I've seen 3 E30s 2 touring and a said looking 325i face lift cab parked up down a side street in Munich,it looked like it hadn't moved in a while.

It’s worth a wander to the Olympic stadium and village. Village is student accommodation these days and it’s pretty cool to walk through. The nearest Indian restaurant is also very good but a 15 minute walk away- it’s called aangan. HTH.
M Section of the museum was my favourite, only time I've seen an M1 in the flesh.

Ah, you're doing well with the e30 spotting. I've seen more 190SL's in the wild of Germany than e30's. More W201 190's and W124's being daily'ed than you can shake a stick at.
