Hi All,
I will be getting some 15" Ronal LS wheels at some point soon, and I am looking at tyre choices. (They are 7.5J width, ET25)
My car is not lowered, and currently running 15inch wheels with 205/55R15 tyres. I like how they look, so want something of similar profile.
However, there seems to be loads more 60 profile tyres available on the market, and as I would prefer to get all-season tyres maybe I should go for 205/60R15 instead.
But I don't know how they will look on the car. Maybe they will look too big, or too silly? And is this tyre too large, as in is there enough clearance? So, is anybody running tyres of this size on their E30, and could you send pics? Or, do you know if there are already pics in a different message thread?
Thanks.

Hi, I would go for 50 profile tyres, 60s will look like baloons. Also 50s will lower your gearing giving you more get up and go, 60s will reverse this. Uniroyal Rainsport 3 are a good choice.
See my other thread about tyre choice.

Hi. Thanks for the advice. I hadn't really considered 50 before, but I will definitely take a look. But, how would they look on an un-lowered car? I'm worried there might be too much of a gap around the wheel. Any pictures I can use for reference? Thanks.

Hi look in the cars for sale section at my now sold 325i. There is a bit of a gap at the front wheelarch, but I am planning on lowering my Convertible anyway.

Thanks. Your For Sale 325i looks really great. But I think the gap at the front wheelarch is a little too much for my taste. And I don't fancy lowering mine. So, I'll either stick with the 55 or go for a 60, but only if I can first find some pics of what it will look like.
A separate - but related - question is where did you buy your centre caps from? The wheels I have at the moment are the 15" BBS, but they are far from pristine, and without the centre caps. I figure that to get them refurbished, plus new centre caps will cost around £400? Is that about right?

New centre caps are now an incredible £90 each! You can get the Nogaro Silver ones for £50 though.
See thread in the wanted section. 55 profile is std, so should be plenty of Google pics around.

Thanks. But I actually want to know how the 60 ones might look (like balloons?) on an E30, as I can't find any examples.
(Centre caps are crazy expensive!)

Standard 14" wheel tyre size is a 65 profile, so no worse than that.

Yes, very true.Brianmoooore wrote:Standard 14" wheel tyre size is a 65 profile, so no worse than that.
I'm just wondering why I can't seem to find anybody else that has put 60 on a r15 tyre. Does it really look that awful?
