Might be getting a bit a head of myself here, but as I have mentioned many times before on previous posts, I'm looking to convert my 318i engine to a 325i and will therefore need to change my suspension. I will eventually however want to mod the engine i.e. change the cam, zone chip, and fit bigger brakes etc and will want the car to sit pretty low (not so low it upsets the handling tho - like my curent 60mm drop does.)
I know I'll have to change the struts from my current 318i too. But don't see the point in buying suspension to suit a standard 325i when I have the intention to upgrade. Has anyone got any suggestions for a suspension package that I can fit during the conversion, of which will still perform well after the upgrades. Get what I mean? - so I dont have to mess about with/buy new suspension twice.
Cheers!
Nick
What suspension for upgrade?

Options:
H&R Cup kit - best choice for fast road use with good comfort
H&R 35mm Springs with Bilstein dampers
Spax Kit
Bilstein sprintline kit - Cup kit uses nicer springs
Koni Kit if you want to adjust but it wont be as good as the H&R stuff.

Thanks mate!
So basically any of the kits offered in the zone shop then?
Been lookin at the H&R Cup kit, but at the 60/40 one. Do you think that having the 35mm kit will be better due to the fact that there will be more compression within the springs? Like I said I want good handling but at the same time I really like the look of low cars.
My current ride has a 60mm drop all round on the Bilstein Streetline kit using Pi springs. It looks nice and low but given the other mods I have done to the car, does not handle anywhere near as good as it should.
Been told I could still use the rear Bilstein shocks and just change the front shocks and all the springs. Is it worth it? Could just sell the set (plus still have orginal Bilstein 40mm springs for the set) and buy a whole new setup?
Cheers!

Nick, you have the wrong struts mate!
You currently have the smaller 318 ones.. You will need to get the bigger 325i struts to be able to fit any upgrade kits suitable for your conversion plans.
We talked about this on the phone.. Ring me again dude. I have some of those struts at Ryans.

Alright Jai-meister-jam,
Yeah I know bout the struts. I'm not gonna fit the kit now, lookin to fit the struts and hopefully some upgraded suspension whilst having the 2.5 put in.
Cheers!

H&R 60/40 kit gives a very very nice ride height and the back looks much better than a 60mm drop and wont eat your tyres.
The kits on the Zone shop are those that have been tested by me or alot of other guys on here. PI springs have been missed out for a reason on there - getting hold of them isnt an issue.
Heres a pic of a Cab fitted the the H&R Cup kit 60/40 - this was when it was newly fitted, the back has lowered by an extra 20=25mm since then.

Thanks mate, really appreciate the info.
But what do you reckons better between the 60/40 and the 35mm drop. Will my handling suffer by much with the 60/40 compared to the 35mm?
Cheers!
