Exhaust Rear Box 2 Brackets? 316 & 325 the same?

My 93 tourer with 316i M40 engine has the two piece exhaust with cat, single pipe with the 2 rear offset brackets with the 2 rubber doughnut supports on the rear box.

Are all rear bracket kits the same size?

A few internet sellers selling pattern part bracket kits around £12, but they all say for 325. I beleive they may be the same size as used on 316i, anyone know?

I beleive the rear box on 316 & 318 may have had 2 sizes depending on year, on the E30 but not sure? I say that because I bought a pattern part rear box & had to send it back as rear muffler had a larger diameter & would not fit inside my old brackets (pipework identical shape otherwise).

My car has a Bosal with the smaller of the 2 rear box (if there is 2 sizes!)

Just a heads up on those cheap hangers... I bought two for my 325i (so can't answer your question, sorry), and after a short while had a really, really annoying rattle from the exhaust that went if you held the tail pipe/put pressure on the exhaust. Everything was tight.

I dropped the exhaust to get a wideband welded in, and noticed that one of the brackets/hoops had departed from the bush - the spot weld had failed. I fixed it with a nut/bolt easily enough, but they don't seem to be the best quality in the world. For the price I paid, I'm happy enough to fix it for 5 minutes of looking for a suitable drill bit/nut/bolt, but just a heads up.

Same here, after a week the spot welds failed on cheap pattern brackets.
