Rocker cover plate

Just a quick one.

The plate riveted to the underside of my Rocker cover(M20 2.5)
Has come off.

Is this part that important?

I can see more oil perhaps getting sucked through the vent tube, is this a big problem.

I can't see an easy way of refixing it.

I refitted mine by drilling the original fixing-points to accept small self-tapping screws.

To make sure the screws wouldn't come loose and fall into the valve-gear i used serrated washers too.

I bolted it on in the end. Drilled three holes roght through and used sealing washers so it was air tight.

It'll do until I buy a new cover.
