Hi all,
Been to see a chromie 2 door with m30 fitted yesterday (currently listed on eBay). The car was generally very solid much better than most others I've seen.
However doing a HPI check the car is recorded as cat c in 2002, is this something I should worry about? Would you expect it to devalue the car a lot considering it's already been Modified?
Couldn't see any signs of damage / repair when I inspected it.
Thanks,
Steve

The costs of even a modest repair would likely be enough to render a car as a CAT C. Even if repaired properly i would be surprised if its status was not detrimental to its value.
Suspect some insurers would be a little funny about it also.

If its a Chromie back in 2002 it may have been at least 12 years old so a trashed rear bumper and panel would have made it not worth repairing via insurance so they wrote it off as the cost of the repairs where more that X % of the value of the car.
It will always have that marker and it may be an issue when you come to sell the car and it depends on what you want to use it for as always its buyer beware.

Managed to contact the previous owner who had a lot more info on the car and loads of pics of areas that have been repaired and have agreed a price with the seller so should be back in an e30 soon!
FYI didn't have any impact on insurance, they we're only interested if it was cat a or b.
Thanks for your help.
