Heater not warm

Hi all ive a problem with my e30 heater it blows hot from windscreen and the footwell but ony half as hot from centre anyone know how to fix this?

The temperature coming from the centre vents is designed to lag behind that coming from the other vents at heat settings other than full hot. I'm not sure whether it's designed to catch up at full hot, but if it is, and it doesn't, then it will be a cable adjustment problem.

My temperature knob is it full but still the centre air vent only blows lless than half hot even when all air is coming out of the centre ?

I'm not sure there is anything wrong with heater as it is. As I said above, it's a design feature that the face vents blow cooler air, but there is an adjustment at the blender flap end of the heat knob cable that looks like it might be relevant.
If you remove the driver's knee under dash trim panel, and look at the right hand end of the heater box, you will see where the cable from the knob is attached. There is a round white adjustment knob, but the securing clip has to be removed first. It looks like tightening the cable may increase the max. temp. output to the face vents.

yes i always understood the center air vents were just for fresh air (unheated )

I have found the e30 to have a noticeably better heater than many modern cars. The car heats up very quickly and vent controls are simple and ideal. I have not noticed a difference in temperature between the face and dash vents. Its worth going for a spin in this weather anyway just to warm oneself up.
