Please can someone suggest an estimate for the effort and time that I'll be looking at to replace the timing belt and water pump (understand these are best done at the same time) on an E30

Also interested in recommendations for a good garage to do the work within a reasonable radius of Milton Keynes - MK, LU, or Hemel area.

Thanks.

First time I did this, I spent a couple of days because I cleaned everything, replaced some odd broken bits, painted brackets and the water pipe (metal) and I also did the front cam seal - also worth doing at the same time - most time was spent getting the oily crud out of the belt housings - a real mess, also I had the bonnet off to clean and re stick the insulation.

It's logical, and straight forward, watch and read up on the wiki and so on.

Last one I did took an afternoon to strip and the next morning to rebuild.

Thanks for the swift reply Paul.

Not looking to do the job myself - was looking for a estimate of time that it would take a garage who know what they're doing.

Thanks for the cam seal tip too!

What about Barry @ BM Performance, he has a forum on here http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... forum&f=95

I know he's in Gatwick but it's a straight run down the A41 from Hemel.
