Hi guys and girls
Need some advise, I brought a e30 cab today and it’s got an electric roof, the roof does not work due to the dreaded motor problems. I have read that you can buy a repair plate, does anyone know where to find them, or have any other fixes. I also need the mech that goes into the top of the motor, it’s the mech that the roof arms connect to to pull the roof up and down
Any help would be great

Gert is your man,
The plate is available and from my knowledge there is a bit named the "drumstick"
Also check the WiKi

Hi,
Have you any pics so that we can see the extent of the damage/motor failure?
The "main" hood lifting and retracting motor breaks a fixing point (the motor doesn't actually break). The repair plate to resolve this issue is available on ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E30-Cabri ... 2438829425
Unfortunately, when the "motor" fails, it tends to break other parts such as the "drumstick" and the pull + push rods. I believe all these items are available from the dealer.

Hi guys
Thank you for the info, I will get a picture tomorrow. I have tested the motors and they both work, although they don’t work when I press the switch on the dash, but I can hear a click from what sounds like the boot or under the hood cover. I’m also missing the bit that connects the rods to the motor
Many thanks for your help
