just got a set of jbl gto blah blah blahs do i actualy have to hack the metal away to fit them as i dont realy wanna fit them in boxes it looks a bit ammetuer-ish sorry if i offended but thats my oppinion

just my opinion mate but i wouldnt bother putting in the 6x9's in the rear shelf you have to hack it awat and the tension bars for the boot to stay and they look a bit poo :D

Apparently you can get some spacers that go between the speakers and the shelf.

Try Halfords :bolt:

Hmm, I made a set of those spacers for my first e30. Looked ok but the one I have now has had holes cut for them and its much better. Id always go with the holes cut. looks way better an you will get better sound results.

i've got a custom shelf that fits 6x9 and u wont have to cut metal. yours 4 20 quid!!!
