Getrag input shaft bearing

Hi,

Does anyone know what's involved in replacing a getrag gearbox input shaft bearing (vehicle is a m40 1990 model)

Would this be a gearbox strip down job or is there a clever way of extracting the bearing with out pulling the gearbox apart.

I"ve had a bit look about on tInternet but can't seem to find much info on this particular task.

AFAIK, it's quite an involved job.
For a bog standard M40 'box, it has to make more sense to source a good second hand replacement.
