Hi all,Can anyone sell me the bottom parts of both wheel liner Splash guards? They come in to parts for the convertible and its the part that stops the water etc getting behind the wing next to the seal and doors, basicly behind the wheels.
Can't find anywhere.
Please help =-)

Easy,
whats with the number 2 gag?? don't get that one =-)

I believe that's a diagram foe an e30 not an e30 convertible. As you know the wing at the bottom is slightly longer on a convertible and there is another piece of plastic that wound join below around where that number 3 is on the diagram.
I've just got the number 2 joke now =-)

I put the details in to realoem for my car which is a 1988 convertible as you can see by the longer section on the wing.

The diagrams do not always line up,

BTW Number 1 If its Yellow Let It Mellow

And Number 2 If its Brown Let It Drown

Stick your details in to realoem and post up what you need.

i remember these little bastards , they're just an extension to any none cab front arch liner. the two cabs I've broke had separate parts at the bottom to fill the gaps left by standard arch liners .

yeah you know what I'm saying Magpie they are imposible to find and I didn't know they existed until I rotted out a wing and wondered why. The other wing is starting to go now as the water gets behind without that bastard piece of plastic.

I never noticed my car having an extra part to the arch liner apart from the part/flap you removed to clean out the gunk behind it.

Part number 51711945867 and 51711945868 are for cabby, I fitted new ones as I had none - they fit all the way to the bottom of the arch - but no idea about additional short panel to adapt a non cabby liner.

The ETK (realOEM, etc.) diagram is the same, whether it's for the saloon or cab. The difference is that in the parts list under the diagram, there will be no reference to any cab. specific parts when looking at the list for a saloon.
The liner extensions are 51 71 1 943 829 and 830. As with all BMW parts, the odd numbered part is for the LH side, and the even number for the right.
Have you enquired with BMW (e.g. Cotswold in our traders' section) as to whether they are available new?

Oh I think I see whats going on here.
Paulty your liners (part numbers) for the Cabrio are one piece and fit all the way round to the bottom of the arch down by the seal?? and Brian has give the part numbers for extension pieces that convert the standard liners to cover the inside of a convertible wheel arch??

Anyways I've put a post out in the Cotswold section!! cheers for that Brian

I think you'll find you need both pieces - the best way to use the ETK is to enter your VIN into the appropriate box, find the diagram (under bodywork), and look at the list below the diagram. All the parts listed with part numbers should be used on your car, unless a dealer option that was taken up changes things in that particular area.
Have you read HartgeH27's sticky in the Cotswold section?
I wouldn't be surprised if the larger, upper liner, is made from a cut down saloon liner, just as the outer steel wing is, although I haven't checked.

Part number 10 on the diagram is what you are describing.

Hi ben,

yes now i'm looking at it in more detail it is piece 10!!!! It's funny as it looks like that is a piece from the front of the arch liner in that photo but that looks like the piece now that you say it =-)
