Right i'm 2 minds now about putting the sport back to standard and selling for the black alpina at WLN

my plans were to 2.7 this car with the bits i already have.

Or i could go for this alpina and all the hard work is already done. I have plenty of bits to go on this alpina too, like a tasty 6 branch and my exhaust, cruise, heat the seats, air con, excellent shocks and springs.

Maybe get some leathers for it too.

I'm in a bit of a pickle, but to get this alpina. I would need to sell up some stuff for u vultures! To raise the cash to get this car in my garage :D :?

Alpina bottom end i already have
Alpina wheels nearly mint F1 tyres 8j rears too
BBS split rims

These are the things i have which are worth dolla to raise the funds

I would talk to my partner in crime Demlotcrew about it, but as always he never answers his phone! :x

I know what some of the hardcore massive are saying. Either car would be in my garage and getting the love they need! :?

The C2 looks nice. Very nice. Needs a tidy but it seems pretty spanking to start with. What's the mileage / history like?

I have to say that your sport seems to be in decent fettle as well.

In an ideal world, I'd say go for the C2 as, with cars of this age, its worth having something that little bit rarer to justify the effort.

However, I weigh up the costs and play this one strictly by logic. If you can acquire and fettle the C2 to how you want it without lashing obscene amount of cash and endangering your house / relationship etc., then do it.

Bare in mind though, regular sports are nice cars and a few mods make them pretty much as special as any Hartge / Alpina in all but stripes and name in my opinion.

this is true, the sport just has up rated brakes and a complete suspension renewal and it's an absolute f**king hoot to drive!

I voted alpina too

Stick with the sport and sell one set of the wheels and then do the 2.7.
I am totally biased because I think your sport is one of the nicest around.
Put the pinas on the car and flog the bbs to raise the wedge for the conversion.
You would get bored with a car that is already sorted !!!!

nice as it would be to have a rare car, i think its better to be able to stand back and say "thats my handywork".

Do the 2.7 conversion fella, in the long run i think it will be more rewarding for you.

I was trying to look for your number today on my phone because I wanted to speak to you about exactly this!

I was going to say sell sport and buy that Alpina.

I think you should do it as long as the Alpina engine is healthy, get it dyoned.

The head on an Alpina is quite tasty.

Having something rare like alpina - playing with that gets my vote - I have access to one and know how good they are when modified lightly.

C2 with 284 cam, RD manifold or BTB manifold and a MAF conversion will be better than most 2.7's including Karan's. It will rev MUCH better as Andrew found out the other day.

Do it man!!

After the 2.7 the sport is still a modified sport, but an Alpina, is... well, its an Alpina isn't it?

The wank factor definately comes into play, and the pina has it in spades.

The pina styling looks brilliant as well. Its unmistakable.

i'd say get the pina and i can then buy all the stuff needed for the 2.7 off ya winkeye

having said that you build your own 2.7 least u know the reliability of it, its your own car, buying the Alpina you dont know the history on the car, is the engine still in reliable condition. But choice is yours buddy!

Not straight away if i get hold of it. Would go into my garage and be sorted out. This car like my sport would not be seeing everyday use from now on. It would be my toy! Always, as many zoners will know i have a slight Alpina fetish, always wanted a C2 heres my chance best make use of it if i can. The vote says so too!

Will go for a Classic/limited miles policy of some sort.

Hi Simon

Sell the Sport and buy the 'pina.

I talked to Andy about buying that 'pina long before I sold my Sport and he quoted me about Ԛ£9,000 when it was sorted. He seems to have less time for it these days so is prepared to let it go.

If I was as handy as you or half the chaps on this forum with a spanner I'd have had it. Anyway, that's no longer the case as I need cash more than a car at present.

Whatever you do, you'll end up with a nice ride.
