A problem that may be encountered with the heated rear window is the connecting tags breaking off. This can be fixed with electrically conductive glue, made conductive by the addition of a silver or carbon to the glue. I have done this is the past but halfway through my recent trip the window stopped heating.

On my return home, investigation showed that the earth tag had become loose. I suspect a rear seat passenger had put some stuff on the rear parcel shelf (damn cheek!) and this had slid about and knocked the connector. I bought some more conductive glue, and this came with the advice that the adhesion could be improved by covering the outside of the joint with superglue.

I imagine that adding the conductive material to the glue compromises its adhesive qualities, anyway there you have it, the advice is to protect such a glued joint with a coating of superglue.
