also what do i look out for on m3's, anyone with a m3 buying guide. i know the general stuff but is there any particulars for m3's.

accident damage, engine history ie timing chain, gearboxes probs, suspension (may have had cheap springs on it to lower it and standard shocks which could be fucked)

What a knob if he won't give out the reg...ask him for the last 7 digits of the chassis number instead, you can find out a lot more with that.
From what I can gather from the advert, it's had a full engine rebuild, but the chain hasn't been replaced? It would have made sense to change it when the engine was apart..
Go through the receipts with a fine tooth comb, check for all the claimed work.
I've read something somewhere about this car, and I'm pretty sure it supposed to have low mileage, but looking at the interior, I would have said not. Leather door cards too!
Take the car for a good run, make sure you get it well upto temperature, and leave it idle, make sure the electric fan is switching on as soon as the needle gets to halfway, if it approaches the red at all, walk away.
As has been said though, check for rust...scuttle panel, all around the front suspension turrets, check all around the front panels under the engine bay for any poor repairs/crumples, check for rust around rear arches, rear panel (behind rear bumper) all around the number plate lights, remove the rear number plate and check behind there, remove all carpet in the boot, and check all metal areas again for rust and crumples, also have a good look at the sills, get your head under the skirts and check behind.
Good luck, if you get the chassis number, PM me with it, and I can tell you if it's a 215bhp model, which is quite likely, as it's on a G plate.
