Sticky, leather knob

My gear shift leathery knob is all old and sticky - can't re condition it, so gonna get a new one - but it appears the oem comes without an "emblem"

Before I go at the old one with a hammer, how is the plastic emblem attached to the knob - glue? can you get it off in one piece?

It's held on with adhesive. Get a small flat-head screwdriver or similar and carefully pry it off.

Just a warning - I bought a 20 euro leather knob advertised for BMW E30 and so on of the bay of fleas - doesn't fit. Only the real OEM ones for 50 euro's + are any good.

Yes they do indeed, I normally deal with the BMW Classic store here in Germany, but they have been updating their website for yonks - it's almost unusable!

Check the part numbers and see whats available in Poland and I believe the light up knobs are available.
